Edouard Manet was an artist He painted with a very bold style He was a great painter who came from France He learned to paint by studying the works of other famous painters He had painted many painting in the 51 years he has lived He had painted things that you would see in every day life He was one of the best in his time Edouard Manet was born on January 231832 and died on April 30 1883 He was a member of an aristocratic family and his father was a government official Manet did not have a bad or a sorrowful life like Van Gogh who died of suicide because of a mental problem He died of a disease called locomotor ataxia This disease attacks the central nervous system and causes paralysis He was taught by Thomas Couture and by studying the painting of others Thomas Couture never became famous like Manet Many artists admired him for his works Manet did not look up to a lot of painters One person he was particularly impressed by was Velasquezs He really looked up to him He really looked up to him because of his very lovely paintings He loved Valasquezs vivid brushwork and his style He had painted many paintings Manet developed his talent later in life but he developed his talent quickly He has painted paintings of flowers such as Peonies in a Vase Clematis in a Crystal Vase and Roses and Tulips in a Vase These are beautiful oil paintings done in the 1800s He has also painted people Some of his most interesting paintings like the painting Olympia caused a lot of scandal because it was a painting of a lady-posing nude on a bed But those were not the only kinds of paintings he had done He also painted pictures of fish fruits and vegetables He loved to paint He had a very wide variety of paintings I will
