Cleopatra Report I did a report on the last pharaoh of Egypt who was Cleopatra VI 6th Cleopatra was born in 69 BC in Alexandria which was the capital of Egypt at the time Cleopatras father Ptolemy XII 12th also nicknamed Auletes was the Pharaoh of Egypt He most probably married his own sister Cleopatra V Tryphaena In those days it was okay to marry siblings and family members Cleopatra had two older sisters named Cleopatra VII 7th and Berenice she had two younger brothers both named Ptolemy and a younger sister named Arsinoe Cleopatra VII died of unknown causes Cleopatra and brother Ptolemy inherited the throne in 51 BC after their father died Cleopatra was around 17 or 18 when she married brother Ptolemy who was 12 years old but it was just a marriage of convenience only She married him because he was the pharaoh He was always in the background while Cleopatra ruled alone Ptolemys advisors didnt like Cleopatra and banished her to Syria and her little sister Arsinoe went with Cleopatra was determined to regain her throne Both Ptolemy and Cleopatra were supposed to meet with Julius Caesar to settle their dispute But Cleopatra knew that if she went to Alexandria in the open Ptolemys henchmen would kill her So she smuggled herself to Caesar in an oriental rug When Caesar saw Cleopatra he was bewitched by her charm and became her lover that very night When Ptolemy saw them together he was furious saying that he was betrayed Caesar got Cleopatra his throne back after brother Ptolemy drowned in the Nile trying to escape Caesars soldiers Later Caesar and Cleopatra went on a two-month cruise on the Nile Cleopatra found out that she was pregnant at the time She later gave birth to her son Caesarian or Little Caesar Caesar acknowledged Caesarian as his son because Caesarian resembled Caesar a
