The Superchief Earl Warren is one of the most famous Chief Justices to have ever served on the United States Supreme Court His decisions made in court are those that still affect us to this very day Throughout his life he held many offices of power Besides being Chief Justice on the Supreme Court he was the 30th Governor of the state of California and was also the California District Attorney Earl Warren was born in Los Angeles California He was the son of two immigrants his father being Norwegian and his mother coming from Sweden and grew up in Bakersfield California Later he went on to attend the University of California Berkeley There he received his undergraduate and was also a law student at the same University In 1925 he became the District Attorney of Alameda County His job was done so well that he was elected again and again In total he was elected to three four-year terms As District Attorney he became known for being tough-on-crime in which none of his convictions were overturned Overtime Earl Warren became very well known in California While still serving as District Attorney he was appointed to the Board of Regents of University of California He became the Attorney General of the state of California in 1939 He only held the office for a total of three years because in 1942 he was elected Governor of California Earl Warren is the only person to win the Republican Democratic and Progressive primary elections in California because of this he was the only one running for Governor in 1946 He went back for his third and final term as a Republican in 1950 While in office he helped to lay the foundation for the two decade economic boom in California that lasted from World War II all the way through the 1960s One of the biggest dark spots on Earl Warrens impressive resume was his support for
