The chronological organization makes sense for the topic and approach; I recommend helping the reader "check in" with the timeline by separating the information covering 1804-1826 into its own paragraph, as it's otherwise currently buried in a denser discussion about his scientific ideas and discoveries. Another comment I have on organization is regarding movement from sentence to sentence, which can be abrupt at some moments.
