Religion 110401 Martin Luther King Jr Martin Luther King Jr is a great example of how non-aggressive means can be used to achieve a goal Though faced with many adversities King stood by what he was taught in the church and what he learned from his teachings of Gandhi and other philosophers King would not know it yet but the beliefs that he developed while Cozer Seminary School and at Boston University would play a big part on how he would later handle the event that took place during the Civil Rights Movement I have always admired what King went through in fighting for the equality for African Americans King has had is life threaten his family threatened and yet he still went on with the fight I dont know how King remained non violent in his quest when he and his followers were being attacked by those who did not want to see African Americans achieve the equality that they so much deserved Martin Luther King Jr was born in Atlanta Georgia on January 15 1929 to Martin Luther King Sr and Alberta William King Kings parents had sensitized him to the issue of racism and it evils At fifteen King entered Morehouse College under a gifted students program receiving his Bachelors in 1941 During kings senior year at Morehouse king decided to go into the ministry King went to Crozer Technological Seminary in Chester Pa and spent the next three years earning a bachelor of divinity in 1951 From Crozer King went to Boston University where he sought to find a firm foundation of his theological and ethical indentations King while at Boston University King would focus his attention on the concept of the relationship of man to God King met Cortta Scott while in Boston they would get married in 1953 and have four children When Rosa Parks decided not to give up her seat to a white man in Montgomery
