Rock and Rap music are two very popular genres Both feature loud amplified music and lyrics that can be vulgar tasteful and have an impact on ones life Rock focuses more on guitar drums and singing unlike rap with its fast talking slang sung over a drum bass beat Although being the most popular genres in the music industry today many differences are evident when comparing the equipment vocals and unique style of rock and rap artistsGuitars drums and sometimes keyboards are the basic instruments that make up rock music whereas rap music is rhyme and lyrics focused It takes a great deal of talent to write a catchy rock song with guitars and drums unlike a rapper who requires a producer to create a beat usually pre-recorded sounds which consists of drum machines keyboards and computer software Rock bands have to find dedicated talented musicians and depend on each other to writing a catchy song rather than with the ease of a producer sitting behind a computerRock music is usually characterized by having irrelevant lyrics and crude behavior at concerts Though not always the case the vocals in a rock song give it more depth and meaning and the singer must have a good voice that collaborates well with the music Unlike the sub-genre of Hip-Hop rap is sometimes defined as having a few good lines auto-tune and a catchy beat What differs rap from rock is that rap amazes many people due to a persons ability to rhyme words together quickly and express feelings or explain a story at the same timeNowadays it is difficult to make it in the music industry as a musician because there are so many musicians that want the same thing You have to be able to perform on stage promote yourself and have a unique style A rap artist usually has to depend on other musical
