The two articles chosen are from the Chicago Tribune and The New York Times involving the holocaust Both articles are written around the same time only four months apart nevertheless the reason for writing and tone are slightly varied from one another While one does not impose its opinion the other conveys an emotion on the the also detail different methods the Nazis used to kill numerous Jewish populaces However both articles are similar in use numbers to showcase the tragedy and reporting the fleeing to other countriesIn The New York Times article titled FRENCH JEWS SENT TO A NAZI OBLIVION expresses its opinion on the subject They use powerful scare tactic words such as terror brutality dark in order to show the people how horrible the situation over there really is Even mentioning how so many involved are women and children a tactic that shows the people affected are innocent civilians rather than soldiers who can fight back In the Chicago Tribune article titled HITLER REDUCES JEWS IN EUROPE TO 3 MILLIONS it talks about the death toll of Jewish people in a very to the point way sticking with the facts The author never incites emotions by sticking the numbers and statistics It describes the people being killed as the Jewish population and how its being reduced This article seems more inclined to talk about the men woman and children as various numbers It does use similar scare tactic words such as destroyed it also talks about the situation as a war on Jews indicating them as soldiers having the ability to fight back unlike the other articleThe two articles both mention methods the Germans were using to kill the Jewish people but mention different kinds of methods The New York Times goes into little detail but talks about the death convoys sending them one way to concentration camps It also remarks extermination centers but likes to leave an air of mystery as
