After reading this affirmative article Kid Kustomers by Eric Schlosser it is evident that Schlossers purpose is to change the way you eat and the way you spend money as well as the way you think 519 Kids are targeted from many different aspects in todays society From television to food and even more childrens attention is always trying to be grabbed in some way Schlosser is informing parents how much their child is truly around advertisers and other sources trying to get them to buy a specific product Schlossers article is successful because of the amount of information given the authencity and organization however the argumentation could have been improved to evoke the audience emotionsThese criteria are useful when examining an academic article that focuses on how kids are being advertised to much like Schlossers piece does Schlossers article shows how much American companies have changed throughout the years Today companies direct marketing towards children because children will then be drawn to a product and ask their parents for it which often times can lead to nagging This article challenges the audience to really think about how they spend their money and how much money they spend on items that are advertised to them and their childrenSchlosser gives plenty of information to support how much marketing and advertisement is directed towards children He gives many different reasons throughout Kid Kustomers as to why readers need to rethink their ways Schlosser states that today children are being targeted by phone companies oil companies and automobile companies as well as clothing stores and restaurant chains 519 This compares to how children used to be targeted by Disney toys and other sources years earlier He even stated that today market researchers analyze childrens work and even give kids surveys Schlosser also states how the internet and television are a big part of children seeing advertisement and at such a young age they dont know what a commercial
