The article by Goldman on Ferrets Mans Other Best Friend doses not show that humans and animals have a great deal in common In the article Goldman explains these three specific topics ferrets compared to dogs ferrets compared to wild mustelids and third how ferrets social-cognitive skills are Hes showing what humans have compared to dogs more so how ferrets are compared to other animals On page one Goldman is explaining how dogs are more likely to ask human for food if the humans eyes are visible suggesting thats dogs are understanding something about human attention He is showing that dogs understand a human to some extent he is not showing how humans and dogs are in common Also Goldman is explains on page one how dogs are suited to socializing with humans in a way that even other great apes-species more genetically related to humans-are not This quote is questionable because he is saying it more as a statement instead of a fact On page two Goldman is explaining how mustelids were raised by humans and kept as pets Any differences in their behavior would therefore be attributable to domestication rather than to being raised by humans He is showing how they were raised not how they have anything in common Also he explains how ferrets would respond differently to humans than to their wild forebears It is showing differences not things in common Page Four explains that ferrets social-cognitive skills are a result of domestication and are therefore related to genetic differences between domestic ferrets and their wild cousins rather than differences in experience From the claim I expressed I think this is showing similarities between ferrets and other wild animals No where does it show how animals and humans have anything in common Overall the article according to my claim Goldman on Ferrets Mans Other Best Friend doses not
