The main topic of this paper is how children with Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder also known as ADHD live and learn I have examined a child named Alex who is 9 years old today I have lived with Alex for 4 years of his life Alex has been diagnosed as an ADHD child at the age of 4 and a half I will evaluate how Alex process information and how he reacts to social and environmental changes The following is an example of an afternoon and evening of an ADHD child These children are very ritualistic in nature For example I have lived with my brother Alex who is 9 years old Alex has a set routine every day he must go through this routine or he will feel that he has experienced a change and this could result in a feeling of no control If there is an interruption in his routine it will cause an outbreak of emotions Thus the routine should be followed with minimal changes and reinforcement of possible changes that may occur Here is an example of Alexs after school routine - At 4 pm Alex must watch a certain cartoon to take a break or rest from school - At 5 pm Alex usually plays with a puzzle or certain project that is assigned to him by parents This assignment is usually a 3D puzzle which he likes to build and will be on display somewhere in the house to showcase his ability and reinforce his confidence - At 530 pm Alex has a small snack and plays Nintendo until suppertime - At 630 Alex will do homework - After finishing required home work which is usually 2 hours Alex will proceed to do watch TV shows relative to the days and plays video games in between the shows - At 930 Alex is told to go to bed unfortunately this results in a daily terrorist action by Alex
