A Simple Friend Short fat round obnoxious loud quirky imaginative and weird is the only way to describe Mark Tipton my unusual best friend He is a stout five feet six inches tall and one hundred eighty pounds and surprisingly agile There are many ways to describe Mark but few can describe him completely and adequately In order to completely understand him you must find out how I came to meet and befriend him there are also certain circumstances that need to be understood in order to comprehend and gain the entire Mark Experience My sister got a phone call one night about eight years ago at about six PM She picked up the phone and said Hi Mark tonights homework is page one-hundred fifty seven numbers one through twenty seven You forgot your book also Meet me at our fence Ill send my little brother with the textbook Allow me to interject here to explain we used to live behind the Tiptons with only a fence separating our backyards I saw Mark waiting there and took the book to him Hi Whats your name Mines Mark he said emphatically That Friday at six PM there was another phone call Hi Mark said Emma Yes heres AJ I went over to his house by way of the fence at the back of the yard and my parents went over to meet his parents via the road It took them five more minutes than it took me and that was five more minutes of playtime this was my first real chance to get to know Mark and so it shall be explained in detail We were outside playing when he decided we should pretend we were super heroes I agreed and we spent a good five minutes the time it took for my parents to arrive to come up with their powers and names He named himself The Comet Kid with powers such as super speed
