Imagine a place where insects exist from wall to wall and floor to ceiling A place where everywhere you turn a new creature awaits Imagine no more because this is what you experience at the Cal Poly Insect Fair Apprehension consumes me as I step foot into Agriculture Building 2 to attend this years Insect Fair Insects and I are not the best of friends Ever since I have been young insects have scared me to death From the very first room I entered at the insect fair I stood in awe at all of the scary creatures that lie before me From Diplopoda to Chilopoda to Arachnida and Insecta wherever I turned there were more creatures than I could ever count It is amazing to me how many people enjoy catching those things and collecting them They are so proud of their collection and rightfully so If I had the nerve to catch anything like what I saw I would be just as proud if not more so As I stated before insects and I are not the best of friends however I have come to appreciate some of them a bit more Although I have to say I will never be able to accept spiders and cockroaches I simply cant They scare me too much and they are ever so ugly I definitely would have liked to attend the Insect Fair and have it less crowded so that I would be able to really take my time and fully consume the whole experience Each room consisted of hundreds of creatures and what seemed to be as many people viewing them Even though the crowdedness put a slight damper on the experience it did not lessen from the entire event as a whole I still cannot believe that many creatures and Im sure even more exist along with us I surely walk away with a different perspective than what I walked in
