According to Webster Virtual means something that is in effect or in essence though not formally recognized or admitted Lifes experiences may not be formally recognized as higher learning But experience can teach us hidden truth about ourselves Learning from experience is the key to success Life is my virtual university I have learned a great deal from it Here is one example A good public speaker talks about how he feels and about what he knows What we know and what we feel is where our passion lies Public speaking has always been one of my passions But my first experience of giving a public speech was not a pleasant one In high school I didnt know much about giving speeches Yet once I was chosen for a national speech contest I was thrilled at the opportunity to express my passion On the day of the contest my excitement grew Hundreds of people took their seats in the stadium There were bright spotlights and cameras flashing everywhere The din of the vast audience was intimidating Contestants began to give their speeches My confidence grew I thought I had a very good chance of winning Then my name was called I approached the microphone The first part of my speech went very well with the audience appropriately laughing at every humorous place Perhaps I became too caught up in the moment and the most unthinkable suddenly happened I forgot what I was going to say next I just stood there stiff on stage with everyone staring at me and the cameras still rolling I wanted to drop dead This to me was humiliating humbling and almost got the best part of me For a long time after this my confidence remained crushed but I knew that I had to conquer my fears if I was going to achieve
