Bridget's feedback:
"This is a well-written essay that shows organizational strengths and sound control of the writing mechanics, though occasional awkward diction should be refined (e.g., "receive" in the first sentence). However, the complete lack of sourcing, whether in the form of a bibliography or in-text citations, makes the credibility of the discussion and, by extension the authority of the author (ethos), very hard for your reader to sound out. An author-date style should be used; this allows the reader to understand you are using the most up-to-date and recent findings to craft a relevant and useful piece of informative writing. A few specific notes: reconsider the phrase "tragic and unfortunate" (last sentence) from a rhetorical perspective, and double-check your claim regarding AIDS."
