Everyday is Memorial Day for an Army Veteran You sleep well in your bed at night only because a few rough men are willing to do violent things on your behalf George Orwellhttpwwwwillpetecomveteran3htm One morning the telephone could ring My supervisor is on the telephone giving me orders to come into work with full battle gear I Russel Thomas rush to work not knowing what has happened in the world There was an attack on American troops in Iraq Imagine a soldier that is willing to die for his country so Americans could pay less for petroleum products in the Gulf Region The soldier serves his country with honor loyalty and dignity In an attempt to win the war the soldier shows patriotism to our flag values and freedom Patriotic Veterans represent people who love this country and support the countrys authority and interests This is to acknowledge the injustices and cruelties that have been a part of the nations history as well as the marvelous accomplishments In this time the fact is American Patriotism is declining Many Americans seem unappreciative of Americas precious national heritage and the great price which so many paid for it The question is whether Americans understand American Patriotism and if they are willing to believe in it Believing in may mean that some Americans make certain sacrifices The Veteran is the most important person in America The Veteran is not dependent upon us we are dependent upon him The Veteran is not an interruption in our work he is the purpose of it The Veteran is not an outsider to our business he is our business The Veteran is a person and not a statistic Veterans have feelings emotion biases and wants It is our business to meet these needs The American Veteran is Gods gift to us Freedom is his gift to the world Terry Richards Vietnam Era Veteran November
