A young girl sits in her living room floor watching Disney as she is engrossed in the comedic channel she doesnt realize that tragedy has struck This young girls mother comes into the living room pondering how to tell her daughter the horrific news Finally she gets her daughter off the floor sits down on the couch with her daughter standing before her and utters the words Steve Irwin died earlier today It doesnt take but about two seconds for the horrendous news to sink in and the girl collapses onto her mothers lap crying her sorrow away Her childhood hero Steve Irwin is dead This story as depressing as it may sound is entirely true and that little girl was me at the young age of eleven years old Steve Irwin captivated millions of people worldwide with his love for wildlife and seemingly danger people everywhere loved this man who wasnt afraid to help those animals in needSteve Irwin or Stephen Robert Irwin was born on February 22 1962 in Ferntree Gully Victoria to proud parents Bob and Lyn Irwin Steve started working with wildlife at a very young age although his father was originally a plumber and his mother was a nurse their true passion was in rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife As Steve grew older his fascination with animals especially reptiles grew He caught his first venomous snake a Common Brown at the tender age of six and would often arrive late to school after convincing his mother to pull over so he could rescue a lizard off the roadWelcome Steves mother even admitted to this stating that he would beg her to pull over whether they were running late or not He grew up in a family that was constantly capturing and relocating problem crocodiles and other animals when he was nine he started helping his dad capture smaller problemIn 1970 the whole Irwin family Bob Lynn Steve and his two
