Everyone has moments that change the way that they see the world There are huge moments like the death of a loved one or the birth of a child These moments make a huge impact but in truth who we are made up of many of small moments It was one of these small moments that made a huge impact on the way I see the world and how I live my life During a cold spring weekend in the north Georgia Mountains I learned that just stopping and taking a breath can bring inner peace and happiness that was desperately needed in my life I learned that sometimes we need to just get away from all the noise of the modern world I found that it is the little things in life like family and love then all the material goods that people today crave so badly I learned that God can be found in more than just a building I learned that I dont have to be perfect to be happy Growing up a child of the suburbs of Atlanta life was all about going to the mall or the local skating ring The most important thing was to keep up with the neighbors and to have the biggest and best of everything There was more value in having that shiny new car the biggest house or that new pair of the latest sneakers then growing as a human being In this world anything that was natural or seemed a bit strange was frowned upon This was not a happy existence for a person who spent more of her time with her nose stuck in a book then watching TV I never seemed to fit No matter how hard I would try My family would just roll their eyes at me when I would ask question things I was frequently referred to as the weird one when they talked to other adults about
