A Rivet Poppers Personally I do not agree with much of what has been said in this article I see this as an extreme example of leftist propaganda The only purpose of this article is to shoot down the practices of the common people I found it especially intriguing when the authors named almost every politician of the day stating that they are all rivet poppers The authors obviously do not want to look at the big picture and are content to see everything through tinted glasses I cannot say that they are seeing everything through rose-colored glasses because if that were true they would see everything in a good light In this case they see everything in a one sided fashion and in a bad light On the other hand to an extent I agree that far too often big business and politicians take actions without thinking about the possible ill effects these actions may have on the environment and our way of life With that having been said I believe that in order to progress as a society and as the worlds dominating species the extinguishing of different habitats will occur Everything comes at a cost and in this case we are not the ones paying it the species below us are This will continue to happen as long as we choose to continue our evolution through technological means B A Loggers Lament I really agree with what has been said in this article Far too often to different lobbyist organizations take specific stands and will refuse to hear evidence proving the exact opposite This may be because as a species we do not like to be proven wrong and when we have our minds made up it is very hard to be convinced of anything to the contrary In our society we like to create scapegoats in order to make ourselves feel better about what we
