Bridget's feedback:
"Your essay makes clear your work with the text and your mastery of the information and content. The essay is structured and organized logically, and each paragraph is sound and focused. The writing itself is lucid and direct, and sentence variety and flow lend to a dynamic reading experience. Before any final submission, make sure to format your page according to your style guide.
I'd like to check in on a few choices you make in the writing, including using "the author" instead of Handy, who only appears by name in the citations. I recommend using "Handy" to make the discussion more specific and continuously assert your engagement with his text as part of the rhetorical situation. On a similar note, I notice frequent use of "this type of...", rather than repeating the specific associated name. As mentioned above, your writing is clear and organized logically, so this does not necessarily present a major clarity issue. The reader, however, may still get lost in the phrasing; I advise treating the names as a signposting element and thinking about when and how frequently to "check in" with the reader on this."
