Adolf Hitlers Rise to Power Before Hitler a man was judged on how good his was Now a man is judged on how evil his is Adolf Hitler was known worldwide for his spread of Terror and Global conquest Hitler radically effected Europe with his racial beliefs and hunger for war Starting off as a child with a dream of ruling the world Hitler was one of few leaders throughout history who pursued and almost achieved his diabolical goal On Easter Sunday April 20 1889 at an inn called the Gasth of Zum Pommer the wife of an Austrian Customs official gave birth to a son Adolf Hitler He was the fourth child to Alois and Klara Hitler of Austria One of the teachers in his high school classified young Hitler as notorious cantankerous willful arrogant and irascible He has an obvious difficulty in fitting in at school His early career as an artist was terminated by World War I Hitler served in the Bavarian contingent of the German Army He was hospitalized due to being poison-gassed and was awarded the Iron Cross Post-war he was employed as a police spy infiltrating extremist groups In 1920 he joined the tiny German Workers Party changed its name to the National Socialist German Workers Party That is Nazioalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei NSDAP or Nazi for short The defeat in World War I shocked the German people Despair and turmoil increased as the army returned to a bankrupt country Millions of Germans could not find work A socialist-liberal republic replaced the defeated empire The Weimer Republic After WW I Germany was forced to sign the Treaty of Versailles The treaty held Germany responsible for the war Clause 231 It stripped the nation of much territory and restricted the German army to 100000 men It also provided for a 15-year foreign occupation of
