Artificial Intelligence Is it so far fetched to believe that man is a machine One can state that since humans react through chemical stimuli which is triggered by neurones firing electrons to nerves and finally to the brain that we are no different from robots who use a similar process albeit using circuitry A difference which is seen is that they are made of metal and silicon instead of flesh and bone However it should be noted that both machines and man come from the earth both are composed of mineral and particles the only difference is the concentration in machines differ to that of humans Yet another argument would be that we created machines thereby they can never become intelligent or have free will because of their dependency on their creators man The preceding belief would be a direct double standard toward creation Does not man consider himself intelligent or free willed without the need to be totally dependent on their creator Why then is it hard to accept that one-day machines will have the same freedom and level of intelligence that we enjoy Perhaps it is fear that holds man back with a prejudice against machines A fear rooted in becoming obsolete of something that he created would overpower and dominate him This fear should be abolished lest he come to the conclusion that what is good for the machines be afflicted on his children who will become increasingly intelligent and will have power over him as he had over his ancestors In regards to Turings test had a caveman be put to it he would fail as miserably as a computer However with generations and generations of evolution and technological improvement as well as a development of language and thereby gaining understanding man has become wise and intelligent In regards to the preceding statements the question must be asked again Is it so far fetched to believe that man
