"You use an intriguing blend of ethnographic and personal anecdote and source-based contextualization to introduce the reader to this cultural landscape. My first comment depends on the rhetorical situation you are working in: I do suggest a concluding paragraph that pulls the essay back out of personal anecdote and into a more formal or academic mode. This can be done by returning to the historical and cultural context, as well as the sources you use earlier in the paper. If your paper is meant to emphasize personal experience, I still do recommend a concluding paragraph that brings together the personal and the broader context, which will help the reader understand the "stakes" and meaning of these experiences.

In terms of lower-order elements, I do recommend a thorough proofread for typos and errors, and finally, bring your formatting into alignment with your style guide: the block quotations are hard to separate from the rest of the text, and the discussion on page 2 relies overmuch on large chunks of quoted text. Showing control of the research will be key to the essay's ethos as transcending mere anecdote."
