In this essay the complicated issue of global immigration since the unfortunate events of 9-11 will be discussed An explanation of what happened on Tuesday September 11 2001 will be given Thereafter we will explore how the United States and other countries are handling the issue of immigration after this awful event By the end of this essay you will be able to derive your own opinion about whether or not this is a correct manner of immigration control or not The events which happened on September 11 2001 911 were terribly unfortunate These events were a series of terrorist attacks conducted upon the United States of America Nineteen hijackers took control over four US commercial flights Two planes were crashed into the World Trade Centre in Manhattan New York City one plane into each of the tallest towers about eighteen minutes apart Both towers collapsed within two hours The third plane was crashed into the US Department of Defence headquarters the Pentagon in Arlington County Virginia The fourth plane crashed into a field in Somerset County Pennsylvania due to passenger resistance 2986 deaths were accumulated in the attacks including the nineteen hijackers wwwsantoxacuk In total twenty-five buildings were destroyed in Manhattan including the subway system These hijackers were associated with al-Quaeda the Islamic terrorist group led by Osama bin Laden Fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia two from the United Arab Emirates one from Egypt and the other from Lebanon At first bin Laden denied responsibility of the attacks but later on took pride in his actions The 911 attacks were among the most significant events to have happened in the 21st century so far The effects were devastating not only to the United States but to other parts of the world as well These attacks led up to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq According to the Associated Press 1600 bodies were identified but were unable to identity the rest
