To many people what is an Anzac Is it simply a word we use to name food or people or is it more My name is sgt smith from the 53 sqn cadets and today I am here to speak to the cadets of the Air Force Cadets about the Anzac and the legend that lives on Many people back in Australia will know and appreciate what the Anzac means to us but for you it can simply be said that ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps On this day we and our counter parts the New Zealand people will remember those who fought died suffered returned or otherwise served there country Have you ever had the feeling when your marching down the street in a huge parade and each year it gets bigger but never better As the old veterans are slowly dying we will remember them and after each ANZAC day parade we hear the lest we forget which means let us never forget Each generation of Australians aim to leave a legacy of value to its descendants The most significant of those legacys to be received from a past generation of Australians is the ANZAC spirit which is recognised though out the world All definitions refer to the qualities of mateship sacrifice and determination This is what the Anzacs took into battle there mates and there determination and no matter how bad the situation the Anzacs were cool and were always wiling to have a joke The Anzacs never went out to be heroes they did there job to the best of their abilities Simpson and his donkey is the best example of the Anzac spirit he would go into a battle with bullets whizzing past his head to save a fallen comrade and bring them to safety not once thinking for himself and only for his mates Do we glorify war I
