Bridget's feedback:
"Your use of detail helps bring this story to life, and the movement over the narrative sets a good pace. More transitions will help enhance the flow even more. I was a little puzzled by the last sentence and wondered if the essay is not yet finished -- what were the effects that came a year later? Help the reader follow the entire narrative timeline, through the effects, for a full-circle piece of storytelling; as an essay, this also allows the theme and "thesis" of the writing to culminate.
You will want to use a thorough proofread to catch frequent syntax and mechanics (e.g., punctuation) issues that hamper flow from one moment to the next; as described above, focus on transitions and movement as you help the reader understand what happened and the implications or lessons."
