Art was not my first major I was a Culinary Arts major and Nicholls State University After switching my major a few times I decided to transfer to McNeese State University for Forensic Chemistry After two semester and taking Basic Design 2 and Introduction to Photography I decided to change my major to art I loved that I was able to express myself in a creative way My goals in college are to take as many different art classes that I can to find out what I do and do not like I think the more I do while in school the more I will know exactly what I want to do when I am not in a school setting My core classes taught me the fundamentals that I use in every art media In Basic Design I learned all about the principles of art and learned how to apply them so that when I get to Drawing classes and had to use line quality and value to show objects I will have an understanding on how to do this In art 105 I learned how to be more creative with the different ways I expressed myself My strength in art is making a balanced composition I remember in my Basic Design class before I knew what composition was my teacher told me I had nice compositions in all my work I have a natural ability to balance a composition so that it is appealing to the eye My weakness in art is my craftsmanship In Basic Design 101 I always had a hard time keeping my artwork nice and clean In Art 217218 I would have fingerprints all over my Drawings and I would always tear my paper One way to utilize my strength is that no matter what media I am working with I can come up with ways to have an appealing composition and work on ways to make the
