"This book sounds like a gripping, important read. You've given some great examples of powerful events from the book. However, you rely heavily on direct quotations and summary and there is little personal analysis. Consider summing up events and spend more time reflecting on what those events mean.

Events can be grouped together as well. Rather than describing one event, then stating your reaction to it, you can describe several similar events and provide an analysis of them. This will make the essay less jarring and help with flow.

Your introduction should give an overview of what you will be discussing and have a thesis statement that spells out the main idea of your essay. There should also be a conclusion that sums up your analysis."
