The research topic that I chose is based on a program that was introduced by Muska Mosston and Sarah Ashworth The program is named The Spectrum of Teaching Styles The program was created with physical education in mind Mosston believed that physical education is important in a sense that it offered physical cognitive and social development for students It is based on the presumption that the behavior of teaching is based on a series of decision making meaning a conscious effort to teach is derived from a decision to teach This series of decision making events are grouped into pre-impact impact and post-impact categories According to them they governed all the styles of teaching Mosston and Ashworth 1986 Pre-impact is a series of decisions before teaching It involves planning and preparation for what is about to happen in the teaching-learning environment The impact group is involved with the face to face learning which is the execution of the decisions that have occurred in the pre-impact phase The post-impact group of decisions is concerned with the feedback and evaluation from the learners and teachersThe Spectrum of Teaching Styles integrates eleven styles of learning which are called the teaching styles It is a continuum that has on one end the teacher making all of the decisions and on the other end the students taking control of the learning The styles are from A K CommandA PracticeB ReciprocalC Self-CheckD InclusionE Guided DiscoveryF Convergent DiscoveryG DivergentH IndividualI Learner InitiatedJ and Self-TeachK The articles that will be examined in this paper are all based on how The Spectrum of Teaching Styles that are applied at the elementary level The styles that are focused on in these studies are mainly the Practice style b Reciprocal style c and Inclusion style e styles The practice style is the style that is used most in the spectrum The
