Mark Twain once said that Courage is the resistance to fear mastery of fear not absence of fear Watership Down written by Richard Adams takes place in an English country side This is a tale about rabbits that encounter dangers create enemies and decide to follow sagacious plans to find a home that may not come Troubles stare face to face into the worried eyes and minds of the rabbits and yet they still push through with Hazels guidance Hazel is unconditionally perseverant undoubtedly brave and humbly audacious which makes him admirableHazel is unconditionally perseverant throughout the journey When Hazel is barely alive after his near death experience with a bullet befriending his skin he needs to return to the Honeycomb He endures the pain all the way back to the Honeycomb after Fiver finds him in a ditch with a hole in his leg Through all of this he survives the bullet and the trip back to the warren Hazel also makes very rapid decisions in dilemmas which though not very well thought out seem to work most of the time For example Hazel Dandelion and Blackberry all head to the farm during the raid by the Efrafans to try and save their warren Hazel has the idea of Dandelion being chased by the dog onto the Efrafans along with Blackberrys help His plan involves the risks of having his and his friends lives terminated for an idea that might not help And yet they all follow through and this perseverance by Hazel Dandelion and Blackberry allow the hope for the survival of the warren As one can see Hazel stays perseverant with a plan until the plan is complete So he always follows through his plans even if they were made quickly and hops his way through troubles always leading first Not only is Hazel persistent but to make it through troubles you have to have courage to face the expected terrors or
