"This is a strong essay with good control over the historical and biographical details that form the context of the film. You handle the movement between the film and the context smoothly, overall demonstrating your work with the source material and research. I'd like to suggest a bit of reorganization on the first page, as presenting the plot and then the HUAC information sets up a "plot twist" ("a dark agenda...") that doesn't feel right for the tone or academic project. The current order may also confuse the reader: "The film's controversy exists in the fact that Terry decides..." locates the debate within the movie rather than in the conversation between the movie and reality. By organizing the opening to reflect that interplay, you can ease the reader into the discussion that comes next. Try swapping the order of paragraphs 3 and 4 to get started.

Some issues with lower-order concerns will form the second set of tasks as you move toward the final draft. Use a careful proofread to catch fairly frequent minor errors, including spelling typos; make sure, as well, to italicize the film's title."
