The movie All Quiet on the Western Front is a film about how young men youth was destroyed by World War 1 The moral of this story displays how young men trusted in their families teachers and mentors to make decisions for their young lives This catastrophe took place in German in the 1916s the story was told by a young solider named Paul Baumer Paul was only 19 years old when we fought in World War 1 who had just graduated college school After the war was over Paul and his other comrades planned to become other professions such as doctors lawyeretc however because of the disaster none of them made it out at all This film shows the difference in authority between an individual and the stated and how the nature of war can destroy ones life Although this film informs viewers of the brutality and doleful of war it also helps you understand how the political system worked back then and the sacrifices these young men and their families had to make Even though these young men committed to this war themselves Im sure they had no idea it would be the way it was Around that time the state basically had control over men no matter how young or old if the army wanted you they got you These young mean had no authority over their own lives the only authority they has was to take down the enemy Once these young men signed that agreement which was encouraged by their school teacher their lives were thrown away Even though their lives were controlled by the state they had a closer authority their commanders The young men dealt with two different types of commanders one that wanted to lead the men to victory and another that wanted to abuse his authority Although they were two different types of commanders they shared the same authority over the
