Recently I went to see a play Dial M for Murder at the Somerset Valley Playhouse written by Frederick Knott This was the first play I saw at Somerset Valley Playhouse Although it was very different from other playhouses like the size the play was a good alternative to going to New York to see a Broadway show I enjoyed many elements that Frederick Knott included in the play but I also disliked some scenes tooDial M for Murder was a satisfying play for many reasons To start Dial M for Murder was easy to follow for kids Although it was a play geared towards adults the characters spoke clearly loudly and the language was easy to follow Additionally the cast members acting was great The actors facial expressions made the audience really experience how they were feeling at that moment For instance when Margo Wendice one of the main characters was worried she looked all stressed out her eyes bulged and she played with her fingers The costumes of the actors also assisted in their performances What they wore really set the stage for where they were going For example when two men went out to eat they were both dressed nicely in suits The characters were well-thought out and the action was engaging yet other aspects of the play were also entertaining The stage decorations were very detailed and realistic The set had a desk a telephone a couch a radio French doors a bedroom and many more accessories Therefore the setting fit right into the time period they were trying to display Also this play was top-notch because the plot of Dial M for Murder was suspenseful Every decision every action and every clue factored into the outcome of the play which made it all come together at the end To add this play was also a mystery which are my favorites I love when the characters or the audience finds
