The play Wt was written by Margaret Edson The performance was directed by Vanessa Hendricks and put on by the Stephen F Austin theatre program I had seen the play this past Friday on November the 8th I have always been a fan of theatre but this being my 2nd experience as I understand the art I can certainly say I was not let down The performance being a downstage production really threw me for a loop I was literally sitting 3 feet from the stageDuring the play Katy the actress playing Dr Bearing had changed from being cold hearted and only caring about knowledge to kindness At the beginning all Dr Bearing could talk about how she wrote this or how Dunn someone she had studied wrote that By the end of the play she had grown close to the nurse Susie who was played by Anne Drake In one particular scene Katy had shared a Popsicle with Anna showing kindness Showing that even when life isnt treating you well you can always look at the upside of things Walking in all one sees is a hospital room with a hospital bed and bookshelf next to it So right off the bat someone thinks Alright so this play is about a patient in the hospital In other scenes they carried in desks rolled in something that looked like a gurney for ultrasounds and even at one point they brought in a rub and chair in for like a living room scene The scene when there are desks was her actually giving a lecture a long time ago In each scene the props that were used really help the audience visualize what was really going on In the living room scene where she was on the ground talking to her father about the books she had read would have been scene differently without the rug there in my personal opinion The play seemed to
