For this nine weeks I read the book called Playing with the boys by Liz tigelaar MrDraughon recommended me to read it This book teaches girls that they should never give up on something they love doing even if people around want them to fail girls shouldnt be on the football team so what makes Lucy be able to page 121 TigelaarLucy lived in Ohio her whole life after she lost her mom she moved to California with her dad All of her friends lived in Ohio and California was no where near It was an entirely different place and she was unsure how she was going to fit in The first day she moved into her new house she met a girl named Charlie Charlie was not nice very arrogant and rude Knowing how Charlies personality was made her even more anxious about starting school The first day of school everyone stared at her Pale skinred hair and freckles unlike them who had bleach blonde hair and a perfect tan A kind football player named Benji introduced himself and they instantly bonded Benji informed Lucy about soccer tryouts she was interested and wanted to make the team She showed up at tryouts feeling excited but all the girls eyed her viciously Everything that she tried to do turned out bad Her soccer skills looked nothing like the other girls Accept one thing and that was her kicks Unfortunately Lucys name was not on the list meaning she did not make the team The coach went up to Lucy telling her to meet her after school Lucy met up with the coach and told Lucy to tryout for football That she had the potential to be the football kicker because Lucys kicks were quite something Lucy said no at first she was not about to be on a football team where it was all guys It took her days
