In todays society there are those among millions of people that enjoy standing out These people feel comfortable with expressing themselves in their own unique ways Having confidence such as this is harder for those in society that would rather be more reserved These people like to stay with in the boundaries of what every other person is doing and may not be comfortable expressing how they feel In society there are a number of advantages and disadvantages to conformity like equality influences on others and self-acceptance In high school it is hard to make each student feel as comfortable has he or she can There are extreme stereotypes in high schools today and those can reflect on the confidence of a student At Bishop Guertin high school the students are required to wear a uniform The uniform is not a way to punish the students for improper behavior but a way to make every student equal The uniform brings the Bishop Guertin students together to realize that they are all the same no matter what they wear or how much money they have Schools that do not have a uniform often deal with the bullying of students that dont seem cool Being conformed in high school is an advantage to the students because it teaches them to treat others as equals Children often want the same toys or games that their friends have They always want to be just like the famous Pop Stars in todays society Standing out and being different is great until it goes to far and it influences those around Lady Gaga grew up wanting to be different Through her songs and performances she shows that she likes the way she is and expresses that through her outfits This confidence is great but when younger children are watching their idol come out with outfits
