Teens need to be encouraged to work due to the numerous advantages that they will ultimately discover in the working field Working teens discover life long skills and responsibilities that they will use throughout their school years and even in their careers While maintaining a job teenagers are forced to learn responsibility in many different aspects While working teens are making their own money and are learning the importance of money in todays society Money managing is a major responsibility that some people never come to appreciate Through working teens are earning this valuable attribute for their life ahead Independence is also something that teens strive for in working they find their own sense of independence their own job their own money and the ability to support themselves Emily Payet a high school sophomore says that through working she has earned her own money giving her a feeling of independence Many people believe that encouraging teens into the work force is wrong and unethical These people feel that teens should concentrate mainly on their academics and enjoying their childhood However I disagree with this theory This time in a teens life is crucial This is a major decision-making time for teens If they are encouraged to enjoy their childhood and focus on being a child will they ever reach the level of maturity that is needed for simple tasks in every day situations Will they ever discover the importance of career Answering these questions are difficult but they are reality Yes teens do need to concentrate on their academics but I have learned from personal experience that working did not hinder my studies It only helped me to understand the importance of completing my work and completing it to the best of my ability In working teens are rewarded in many different ways They are paid for the hours that they have dedicated themselves to they receive raises for a job well done
