In the book Night by Elie Wiesel the speakers attitude about is situation is frightened and lonely Elie was a young Jewish child that led a pretty normal life His friend was taken away to a concentration camp but he managed to escape and come warn the other people in Elies community Not one person believed his tales about the harsh place he was taken to and now they were being taken there too In the cattle wagon it is dark and gloomy and Elie feels like he is alone in the world Wiesel Wiesel felt lonely along with the other Jews in his cattle car The darkness made him feel all alone and the miserable conditions probably made him feel as though nobody cared about what happened to the people in the wagons He also felt that his world was a cattle wagon hermetically sealed Wiesel This metaphor sows that he felt lonely because his world was unwanted limited to a cattle wagon He was trapped in a lonely world and there was no escape so he also felt frightened He felt scared of what was going to happen to him when he left this lonely world did what the future have to offer surpass this negatively or positively He described it as the bitterness of terror This metaphor is comparing something bitter to what terror felt like to him The terror fills you mind of the sour taste it has and it is a taste that you cannot forget Elie feels lonely and frightened because he feels trapped in a lonely world and the present and future frighten him
