The three years throughout history that will be analyzed for this paper will be 1933 1963 and 1994 Some events that took place during this time were the great depression civil rights movement and the transformation of the job market and expansion of technology The specific subject that seemed to be a common theme despite the time gap was the Black Freedom Movement These historical periods consist of a plethora of events over different eras over time and is still to this day continually undergoing a process of reinterpretation There are obstacles that have been overcome fears that have stayed in peoples minds as well as reoccurring problems that seem to go unfixed After the Civil War when the 13th 14th and 15th Amendments were passed and progress was being made for equal opportunity for African Americans but then America became involved with World War I and the economy was booming everyone was becoming rich The struggle that African Americans had to face in the thirties consisted of peak of the depression Money was rare jobs were sparse and people lived in poverty Living conditions for African Americans were worse for those living in urban areas The first article during this time came from a newspaper called Kansas City and Topeka Plaindealer came from the editorial section and is titled Some Hindrances The article talks about things that are preventing the nation for acceptance of equal rights but the author says that when America speaks of race progress we mean our individual success par 6 I believe that people were so concerned with their own stability that they did not to spend time and money on things that they could not afford to do People focused on improving economic and social conditions which may have put some hindrances which stood in the way of racial progress par 1 The author mad a great point by telling his readers to plan for good days ahead those
