A Walk To Remember By Nicolas Sparks There was a time when the world was sweeterwhen the women in Beaufort North Carolina wore dresses and the men donned hatswhen something happened to a seventeen-year-old boy that would change his life forever was the first thing Landon Carter said in the book A Walk To Remember written by award winning author Nicolas Sparks If that first phrase doesnt catch your attention nothing will This is a story about a boys journey through high school and that first real love he had A love for a girl named Jamie Sullivan I found this book to be very sad and I dont think a person that has read it can say otherwise It certainly can be a real tearjerker Right off the bat we as readers can relate and relive Landon Carters childhood and teen years as he tells about it from his future self He was a normal kid growing up He got in his fare share of trouble partied a little bit and had fun This was his senior year in high school and he planned to make it a good one The other main character in this book is Jamie Sullivan She is a very strict Baptist and is different from all the other girls at school She always does her hair up in a bun and wears sweaters to school She never wears makeup and always carries a Bible wherever she goes Her father the minister at the local Baptist church and he keeps strict rule over everything she does Jamie was definitely content with all of this she was even content with spending most of her hours working at the local Childrens Center I think it was fate that made Jamie Sullivan and Landon Carter come together in the first place because near the beginning they were opposites of each other The first thing that happened was
