Prompt 2 In the beginning of a novel the author may present a certain character one way By the end of the novel this character may be presents completely different This is often what happens with a dynamic characterization In your work pick a character which is transformed in this way Describe the differences in how the character is described in the beginning from how heshe is described by the end of the novel Use specific examples from your text Maggie has no problems showing her green-eyed monster tailgating her back In Everyday Use by Alice Walker Maggie expresses her jealousy and somewhat disgust for her own sister Dee Maggie has many reasons to be jealous though Not only is Dee prettier and smarter but she is also favored by their mother Anything Dee wants Dee gets This is not the case for poor Maggie Her hatred soon takes a turn of events and Maggie finally does not feel underestimated Ever since Maggie was young she was always jealous of Dee They are opposites in many ways as Dee is petite and delicate while Maggie describes herself as a large big-boned woman with rough man working hands Walker 1 Their mom only wishes for Maggie to be like Dee but Maggie can only do so much She lives most of her life aspiring to be like Dee in order to earn her mothers love Love and affection are key factors into living life Towards the end Maggie and Dee compromise and Maggie finally feels accepted Her mom eventually comes around and realizes Maggie deserves so much more A promise is a promise and The truth is I promised to give them quilts to Maggie for when she marries John Thomas Walker 4 Though Dee causes a scene and degrades Maggie in front of their mom she stands firm and gives the quilts to whom they rightfully belonged to Maggie This causes Dee to become furious
