PROBLEM American aid to Africa for economic and infrastructure development in a Pan-African context Recommendations 1To invest in businesses to help give work to the natives of Africa which will lead to building there economy 2To build a program that will help that natives of Africa to have more involvement in the process of purchasing and owning land in Africa 3Help to organize a united African government America has ignored the problems of Africa for too long From the past history of apartheid to the recent massacrers of 1000s of people in Rwanda The US has neglected this vast continent with its millions of people The African economy nas been hurt by investors who do not stay for the long haul While short-term foreign investment in mines or business has helped the African economy initially It has ended up damaging it badly The investors would pack up and leave after they made there money leaving the people without jobs to work and the economics in recession Africans education is a deep-seated problem Without education Africans can not protect themselves from the world or problems that they are faced with now like AIDS and other diseases If you dont mind me saying so I feel that we have been giving lip service and giving as little as possible just to say that we are doing something Now I think it is time to show people that we believe in America and what we stand for and help Africa get out of this bind that they are in before it is to late For the next few minutes I will give you a quick view of the relationship that we have with Africa in the area of funding As of now we have something called the Africa Fund The fund has a long tradition of building broad support for African organizations Each year The Africa Fund makes a series of small grants to
