Bridget's feedback:
"I enjoyed reading this essay and its use of both reflective and analytical modes. The balance of the two shows good control of the subject matter, the form and genre, and the text, and is, further, thoughtful and engaging. The prose shows good flow and structure, and is overall lucid, necessary for conveying complex discussions. I do spot enough typos or minor errors that it bears mention, as well as some awkward diction and phrasing (e.g., "injustification", subject-verb agreement issues that can impact clarity, and opportunities to revise toward clarity and succinctness).
Your point about suicide being illegal is a good one, and I think you can explore that further before dismissing it with the final ironic image of that paragraph -- that is, can you move that point beyond pathos? I also recommend providing some context for Hume's religious beliefs (or lack thereof) so the reader understands from what position the definition of superstition (particularly in the conclusion) is being advanced."
