Many people suffer from periods of depression The reaction to some devastating event such as the loss of a job serious bodily injury the death of a loved one can be so traumatic that treatment is called for However in millions of people depression occurs for no apparent reason Mood disorders can range from mild to severe and can remain for many months or even years Mood disorders is a period in which the individual has one or more periods of depression without a history of manic episodes and bipolar disorders in which the individual becomes into the period of depression However manic episodes without some history of depression are very uncommon Negative feelings control aspects of living and in some cases can lead to hallucinations withdrawal from all activities and complete breakdown physical as well as mental We cannot always tell if a person is going through depression or just looking to be noticed Many children do not get help because their parents do not want to admit that their child has a mental illness Mental illness is a closet problem in this country and its got to come out says Alan Camilleri About three million adolescents struggling with depression never get help because of the discrimination about this illness Parents do not want to believe that their child has a mental illness because they do not want to be looked down on Due to this many teens are not diagnosed and helped out early enough There are many risks and benefits of using medications to treat adolescent depression There are many ways to treat depression these days That means no depressed person should suffer needlessly Medical care antidepressant medications counseling and the support of family and friends are all effective in treating depression The most important step in treating depression is seeking help People suffering from depression need to speak with a professional and take medication for improvement To fight this disease
