People each have their own beliefs when it comes to religion Everyone has his or her own views about the existence of spiritual beings like God devils and angels Some believe that they exist and others believe that they dont depending on what their faith tells them Scott Derrickson an American screenwriter and producer directed a movie called The Exorcism of Emily Rose It was based on a true story of a German woman named Anneliese Michel who was said to be a victim of demonic possession People nowadays are so secularized and sometimes they seem like they have lost faith in the supernatural elements including god and demons The director of the movie Exorcism of Emily is suggesting that god and demon do exist and that most people have lost their beliefs in the supernatural especially agonists and atheists Father Richard Moore was Emily Roses exorcism priest he was charged with negligent murder because she died after he attempted to perform an exorcism ritual on her that failed From the directors point of view the movie is trying to show how people are so afraid of believing in something that has no hard tangible evidence like devils for instance He also thinks that people have a fear in believing in the existence of things that go against their own beliefs Atheists and agnostics tried so hard to explain what happened to Emily with science when it was obvious that medicine could not explain everything that was happening to her They also seemed to think that demonic possession is outrageous and that it is used to cover up a terrible crime in the name of religion They backed up their argument of not believing in the existence of god and demon by pointing at the fact that the defenders boss commanded her not to put Father Moore on the stand According to the director all Father Moore wanted to do was to tell Emily Roses
