People will ignore their misfortunes and their interests when they are in competition with their pleasures French Proverb According to this quote when a person is fighting or competing for something they often forget what it happening to them and if what they are doing is right or wrong Human nature is something that gets influenced very quickly and this can get influenced by any kind of person doesnt only have to be good people also bad people Orwell believes that human nature is corrupted because humans are very selfish they always want more they want to be on topOrwell thought that the nature of humans was sometimes very selfish First of all in the end of chapter nine Boxer gets sent to glue factory then the next day a wooden crate of alcohol arrives at the font of the farm which the pigs receive Orwell 125-127 If you read between the lines when this happens you will come across to realize that the pigs sent Boxer to the glue factory for money so they could get more alcohol which shows how selfish and deceiving they are To me this is a really egoistic action to do because you are selling a worker of yours for money What do they use that money for Alcohol This situation should never happen in real life because everyone is equal when a person comes out to the earth they have the same rights as you do All men are created equally Thomas Jefferson Putting that quote into mind this explains how it is wrong to sell others even though they are your property This particular event in the book reminds me of slavery in the south Many slaves were sold from Africa there were slave owners that sold people too and then took the money for them Which is treating those people as property just like Napoleon was treating Boxer In addition to that
