Key Environmental Legislation There are many aspects of the environment that federal agencies take into consideration while they keep key aspects in tighter focus Key areas include air quality energy land use and conservation noise control pesticides solid waste management toxic substances water quality wildlife conservation and other general environmental legislation In this paper our findings reveal that some key areas are even more important than others Examples would be land use and conservation air quality solid waste management and water quality These areas require a lot more attention for more reasons than one Water and air quality affect health and public well being on the other hand solid waste management legislation is more of a balancing act between economic and environmental factors Future research would most likely go more in depth about the process behind getting these laws passed and what is necessary to enforce them Introduction Since the beginning of the 20th century there have been numerous acts instituted to preserve the environment that we live in Several federal agencies through research and testing activities establish environmental quality standards Using public policy and legislative action these agencies create laws based upon these standards Funding from the federal state and local government make it possible to research and develop the most economically and environmentally suitable ways to not only preserve but improve our environment There are many aspects of the environment that these agencies take into consideration while the key aspects require more focus Key areas include air quality energy land use and conservation noise control pesticides solid waste management toxic substances water quality wildlife conservation and other general environmental legislation Air Quality In 1955 was the first large scale step in improving the United States air quality With the previous use of machinery that burned coal and diesel fuels resulted our country was left with tremendously poor air quality The Clean Air Act of 1955 focused on research financial and technical
