Tyler Millers journey through his senior year of high school has made thebook Twisted a riveting read The theme of this story is that the most insignificant of decisions may result in the most austere of consequences Tyler faces many troubles including disputes with his father Bethany Millbury and his suicidal speculations Stressful is the word that would best describe the mood of this novel due to the rollercoaster ride known as Tyler Millers life As you can see Laurie Halse Anderson perfectly depicts the life of an average teenager and his everyday dilemmasThe climax of this novel is shaped around the events that occur after Tyler attends a party full of intoxicated high school seniorsAfter he upsets an inebriated Bethany Millbury during the party his life takes a turn for the worse The day after the party a revealing picture of Bethany is released and Tyler is alleged as the person who took the picture Following his high school crush to this party did not strike him as being a potentially dangerous decision however the implications from this decision resulted in Tyler getting interrogated by the local police Due to the fact that the decision to attend the party was a minuscule choice Tyler did not think of any potential implications This is evident in the novelwhen Tyler states I was so desperate to make this night happen I took the school bus home Laurie Halse Anderson 112 Hence he did not think of any ramifications as he just took up Bethanys offer without any hesitation If he was to think of any possible consequences Tyler would have avoid all the troubles he faced later on in the novel I can connect this theme of even the smallest of decision resulting in the most serious of consequences to my friend Brian He was surrounded by his college peers who all smoked cigarettes Due to the peer pressure Brian decided to just smoke one cigarette
