Media is the new evil of the world It is the reason people are provoked to perform violent crimes This is a statement said by many American adults most of the time without adequate knowledge about the subject If they knew the facts would they still say the same thing Although it is a personal decision generally speaking media is to blame for violent crimes There are a lot of facts supporting that media is to blame for provoking individuals into committing violent crimes For instance the more TV that a child watches the less that heshe is disturbed by violent acts it also shows that by the age of 18 the average person will have seen about 18000 violent acts Studies show that about 20 violent acts appear on childrens TV shows every hour Children who see violence on TV are more likely to think that the world is a dangerous place act violently against others have less patience or even leave objectives unfinished There have been over 3000 studies performed to prove a connection between media and violence Most of them have been successful in showing some connection but not directly related Violence On Television 1 Fanning 1 Violence has bean a form of entertainment long before modern times Corpses were used to light parties and gatherings held by Emperor Nero The ancient Greeks witness gladiators battle each other as well as animals to the death They even witness men and women criminals perform sex acts with each other and animal before they were executed The sixteenth century Czar of Russia Ivan Grozny sadistically decimated 30000 of his own subjects at the siege of NovGorod Young1 Woods 2 There have been recent events such as the shooting at Columbine High School that fall victim to the new blame The perpetrators music and other hobbies were the first to be blamed With music from Marilyn Manson and a video game called
