Riding the Mountains Motorcycling is a great hobby Its a way to get away away from all the problems that life throws at you away from everything There is nothing more adventurous than jumping on your dirt bike and ripping through the woods seeking your final destination such as a mountain peak pushing 7000 feet Life is a series of adventures and recently my dad and I discovered the joy of dirt biking We have been exposed to a new way of looking at the northern part of Idaho by motorcycling in the sky-scraping mountains surrounding beautiful pristine Priest Lake One day last summer we decided to explore the southern end of the lake We had heard that it was possible to reach Schweitzer Mountain from Priest Lake We still had some uncertainties because we had only heard of people going by snowmobiles in the winter when the snow covered most of the treacherous obstacles on the trails However my dad and I being the type that like to seek adventure we decided to try it any way We pulled out our maps and headed towards the mountain As it turned out the ride was possible and we took off with high hopes of reaching our destination This ride was fantastic cutting back and forth through a beautiful valley in the Selkirk Mountains The terrain was steep and the going was rough but our bikes handled it with no problem It was such a great feeling to fly up the Hill 2 mountainside at a high rate of speed It felt as if I was strapped to a rocket and the fuse had just been lit triggering the ignition to thrust me forward with heart-stopping power The cool crisp wind rushed past my head creating a cool draft circling throughout my helmet and goggles And I thought to myself I am in heaven The ride took us about two hours and by
