Joseph hart once stated Psychologists who specialize in the area agree that the father-son relationship is one of the most complex in a mans life and that its a relationship that can affect all others Joseph Hart explains that a Father Son relationship is something key to everyone in the world based on how the fathers connect to the sons can reflect back onto others negatively or positively This significant theme of father son relationship is present in the book Night by Eliezer Wiesel This book takes place during the Holocaust just after World War Two in 1933 Eliezer the main character talks about the brutal conditions of different concentration camps he endures and his overpowering experience with his father during the Holocaust Eliezer and his father are sent away from their family for nearly two years their relationship starts to grow fonder for one and other Although prior to the Holocaust Eliezer and his father are distant through the work on concentration camps they bond to each other until Eliezer is more concerned on his individual survival than his fathers Previous to the Holocaust Eliezer and his father are distant and not closely bonded Eliezers father is a cultured man who only tends to only care about the well being of his town and the goodness of others Eliezers father is a man of many talents and he chooses to help out his town He also helps them stay safe during the torturous experiences of the Holocaust His father does not show a significant amount of emotional love towards his son nor his family He rarely displayed his feelings not even with his family and was more involved with the welfare of others than with that of his own kin 4 Eliezers father shows the mansulinity figure he is the leader of the family and tries to take on so many roles he doesnt have anytime for the emotional love to give to
